What Are You Doing November 13, 14, and 15?

Consider joining me at our first national conference, where you can earn more than 10 professional development hours. Nothing says "fun!" like Cleveland in the fall!

With the Trump administration and Congress arguing over how to best fund surface transportation, infrastructure hasn’t gotten this much mainstream media attention since the post-Great Recession American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 stimulus plan. Public Works is partnering with sister publications Architect, Concrete Construction, and The Concrete Producer to focus on getting the most bang for the public’s buck when designing and building assets that make our country run: water, sewer, and stormwater systems; streets, roads, and bridges; and airports and waterways.

Technology, demographics, and priorities are changing so rapidly that we recruited three experts to develop programming that helps public works professionals, contractors, and consultants meet this goal. American Society of Civil Engineers Executive Director Thomas Smith kicks off the program with what the 2017 Infrastructure Report Card means for men and women who will oversee state and local infrastructure in the coming decades. We’ll have presentations on the connected worksite and residential construction trends that will drive local infrastructure needs.

If you need professional development hours by the end of the year, earn some by attending the Infrastructure Imperative in mid-November in Cleveland. The registration fee for government employees is half that of other conference attendees ($449 until July 31, 2018).
