Lighting

Streetscape lighting

The company expanded its Galaxy Series of streetscape lighting to include more than 100 different design options — so key components can be interchanged to create custom-styled luminaires for public parks, streetscapes, plazas, roadways, and city centers. The series includes models with varied heights and widths; interchangeable hoods and diffusers in multiple designs and styles; mounting arms in arch, deco, yoke, post top, and swooped styling; and lamps. Portable work light

The M18 Work Light features a xenon incandescent bulb to maximize bright ness, a foldaway utility hook for hands-free use, and a 135-degree rotating head. The lightweight and compact work light uses both the compact and high-capacity varieties of the company’s 18 V lithium-ion batteries. Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. www.milwaukeetool.com.

Vintage outdoor fixtures

To create a historical look, but with modern benefits — such as easy installation, tool-less access, and fast maintenance — the company offers vintage- styled luminaires, arms, shafts, bases, pier mounts, bollards, and accessories. Luminaire styles include lanterns, acorns, globes, post tops, and pendants. Hundreds of standard products are available that can be combined to create thousands of configurations. Energy-efficient step lights

These 12 V and 120 V LED step lights for outdoor walkways, steps, decks, and patios have a 0.064 W output and a 10-year life expectancy. Fixture housings are constructed from galvanized steel or cast aluminum with a powder-coat finish. A variety of models, sizes, finishes, and cover plate options are available. Choose from horizontal, circular, and vertical configurations with louvered, hooded, and frosted glass faces. Orbit/Evergreen. www.orbitelectric.com.

Night vision

Weighing 26 lbs., Nite Lite is a portable work zone light designed specifically for the road construction industry. Easily transportable, it is lightweight, providing a glare-free white light. Drawing 4 amps at 120 V, light output is sufficient to light a 15,000-sq.-ft. area. Microprocessor-controlled electronics ignite the high-intensity discharge, gas-filled lamp. Work Area Protection Corp. www.workareaprotection.com.

Portable light tower

The Wanco Light Tower’s high-efficiency light fixtures provide a uniform light pattern; specially designed to increase filament life, they keep light on the job longer. Each of the four lights can be aimed independently, without tools. The tower features Teflon spacer bushings for smooth, stable operation. The telescoping mast extends to 30 ft., can be manually or electronically raised, and rotates nearly 360 degrees. Gull-wing doors and a hinged top panel provide easy access to the diesel engine, generator, and electrical components. Wanco Inc. www.wanco.com.

Portable, glare-free lighting

Ideal for construction sites and special events, the Glow- Bug Solo Jr. provides 360 degrees of glare-free lighting. The 120 V, standalone model is light (30 lbs.) and easy to set up — the balloon inflates in 30 seconds. It has a maximum mast height of 10 ft., plus an optional 35-in. extension pole. Other features include an air shock-absorbing mast system that protects the bulb and prevents sudden descent and an energy-saving 400 W lamp. The system can be customized with colors and message strips. Multiquip. www.multiquip.com.

Elegant outdoor lighting

The Federal Globe, with its traditional acorn design, lends a timeless look to outdoor environments. It features the Moldcast Contra Cline optical system, a multi-tiered reflector assembly composed of seven reflective elements that surround the fixture’s lamp, resulting in better night visibility, low glare, and uniform illumination. It comes in two sizes, large and small, to accommodate various mounting heights. Architectural Area Lighting. www.aal.net.

Inspection light

The C-100PA high-intensity ultraviolet lamp helps check for cracks, defects, contamination, and surface flaws in confined places that are inaccessible to larger lamps. The lamp head measures just 7×9.5 in. and has a bulb that has an average rated life of 5000 hours. It features a lightweight, stay-cool pistol grip, and a heat-resistant filter holder. Spectronics Corp. www.spectroline.com.

Vertical light tower

A new addition to the Night-Lite Pro series light towers, the V-series vertical light tower configuration is more compact than standard light towers. Because the telescoping mast and light fixture assembly stays within the footprint of the trailer when lowered, it takes up less space and is easier to set up, harder to damage, and easier and less expensive to ship, tow, and store. Its electric winch allows the mast to be raised and lowered in 20 seconds. Plus, the design enables accurate light fixture positioning. Allmand Bros. Inc. www.allmand.com.
