Epicor Software Corporation Thursday announced plans to acquire Solarsoft Business Systems, which offers enterprise resource planning and management systems for manufacturing and distribution in a variety of industries including lumber and building materials. The agreement is expected to push Epicor’s reach upwards of 22,000 customers and its annual revenues to $1 billion. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of October.

This follows Solarsoft’s acquisition in June of systems management software producer Progressive Solutions, which caters to the wood products and lumber and building materials sectors through its lumberTrack inventory software and bisTrack management software, respectively.

Currently, the privately held Solarsoft has approximately 400 employees and annual revenues are nearing $90 million, with 2,000 manufacturer, wholesaler, and distributor customers in North America, Europe, and Asia.

“The acquisition is an excellent fit culturally and from a technology standpoint,” Epicor’s president and CEO Pervez Qureshi said in a statement. “Both companies offer deep industry expertise, and are committed to building long-term relationships with customers, providing next-generation capabilities and enabling technologies-on-premise, on-demand, hosted, or in the cloud-that customers need as their businesses evolve.”
