Carter Lumber announced today it will open a new 10-acre facility in Knoxville, Tenn.

Brian Massie, vice president of the company’s Southeast region, will manage the company’s first Tennessee location, and Glenn Holston, 20-year lumber industry veteran, will assemble and lead a sales team for the Knoxville metropolitan area. Deliveries are expected to begin in May.

“We’re very excited to expand into Tennessee with this new location as we continue our mission to be the number one lumber and building materials dealer in every market we service,” said Jeff Donley, president and COO of Carter Lumber. “Knoxville is a great area. It has a robust economy and a strong housing market; one that we believe will continue to grow. As I’ve said in the past, we are going to seize every opportunity we can to grow our business by adding new locations in markets that fit our business model.”

Carter Lumber is No. 12 on the 2014 ProSales 100 list, and this opening is the company’s sixth new location since the beginning of 2014.
