Boise Cascade Posts 3% Distribution Increase in Q3

The manufacturer and distributor posted a nearly 32% decrease in income.

Boise Cascade reported increased sales of $25.6 million for its building material division among decreased income in its 3rd quarter earnings report Thursday morning. Boise Cascade posted a basic net income per common share of $0.56 compared to $0.82 in the year ago period.

Building materials distribution saw an increase in sales while wood products saw a decrease. Distribution increased $25.6 million in sales up to $799 million while wood products decreased by $15.1 million down to $340.6 million.

The Idaho based manufacturer and distributor saw an 8% increase in sales volume while sales prices decreased around 5%. Boise Cascade also noted that sales of its engineered wood products increased around 7%.

The company stated that it expected seasonally slower demand in the fourth quarter and to matnage production levels with demand levels, potentially operating some of its facilites below capacity.
