Fourteen building material dealers and vendors from seven states were honored by their local dealer associations in a ceremony Feb. 10 that’s an annual highlight of the Northeast Retail Lumber Association’s LBM Expo.
Here are the winners, their companies, the awards they won, and the awarding organizations:
- Genn Hagan, GNH Lumber, lumber person of the year, given by the New York Lumber Dealers Association.
- Tom Bartram, Ed Harrington Inc., lumber person of the year, given by the Lumber Dealers Association of Connecticut.
- Steve Levin, Fallsburg Lumber, lumber person of the year, given by the Mid-Hudson Lumber Dealers Association.
- Paul Murphy, Boston Cedar, lumber person of the year, given by the Massachusetts Retail Lumber Dealers Association.
- Bob Zavorskas, Huber Engineered Woods, lifetime achievement award, also given by the Massachusetts Retail Lumber Dealers Association.
- John Yazwinski, Hancock Lumber, lumber person of the year, given by the Retail Lumber Dealers Association of Maine.
- Howie Jones, lifetime achievement award, also given by the Retail Lumber Dealers Association of Maine.
- Mark Torrisi, Jackson Lumber & Millwork, lumber person of the year, given by the New Hampshire Retail Lumber Association.
- Bob Bicknell, Bicknell Building Supply, lumber person of the year, given by the Northern New York Lumber Dealers Association.
- Ted Angell, L. Sweet Lumber, lumber person of the year, given by the Rhode Island Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association.
- Russ Howe, Weyerhaeuser/Trus Joist, lumber person of the year, given by the Western New York Lumber Dealers Association.
- Cory Poulin, Poulin Lumber, lumber person of the year, given by the Vermont Retail Lumber Dealers Association.
- Sam Katz, Feldman Lumber, lumber person of the year, given by the New York and Long Island Lumber Association.
- Doug Britton, Britton Lumber, lifetime achievement award, given by the Vermont Retail Lumber Dealers Association.
