Hardware Distribution Warehouses (HDW), Shreveport, La., acquired Handy Hardware, the retail distribution business of World and Main, HDW announced today in a press release.

Handy Hardware, based in Houston, Texas, will add 13,000 products and 400,000 square feet of retail space to the HDW offerings, HDW said in the release. The acquisition will also give HDW a greater presence in the Texas and Oklahoma markets. In addition to those two states, HDW serves dealers in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.

“We are excited to add important geography to our distribution network that will allow us to serve 2,000 retail locations,” Kenny Beauvais, CEO and president of HDW said in the press release. “This will also add experienced talent to our employee-owned company that will strengthen our position in the marketplace and our offerings to our retailers.”
