Dena Cordova Jack will become executive vice president of the Mountain States Lumber Dealers Association (MSLBMDA) effective March 1, the Denver-based regional LBM group announced today.
Cordova Jack has served in various positions on the MSLBMDA board, including a 2009-2011 term as the association’s first woman president. She currently is chairman of the Manufacturers Services Council Board of the National Lumber Dealers Association. As executive vice president, Cordova Jack will be the top staff officer of the 125-year-old association, which serves dealers in Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah, and southern Idaho.
She succeeds Geri Adams, who is retiring after 32 years at the association.
Cordova Jack began her LBM career in 1989 at Georgia-Pacific after college, and eventually moved to Boise Cascade, where she held various positions as a market manager and as a commodities trader. After 12 years on the wholesale and distribution side of the industry, she moved to the dealer side, working for Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Co. for nearly a decade as the regional sales director for the Rocky Mountain Region. She then joined Blue Tarp Financial in 2013 as its national corporate sales manager, where her focus was education and advocacy for the industry need of credit management programs for lumber dealers.
“Legislative advocacy and education are needed in the LBM industry more than ever,” she said, “and I aim to bring positive change to our industry in this next step of my career. In today’s economic and business environment, running a profitable and viable business is not easy. Having a resource in your association for legislative advocacy, education, and a forum for sharing best practices with like businesses is paramount to success in today’s climate.”
