Mead Lumber announced the acquisition of Kildare Lumber, a dealer with multiple locations in western Nebraska. Kildare locations in North Platte, McCook, and Ogallala will become part of Mead, and Mead’s existing location in Cozad will close.

Kildare’s final and original location in Paxton, Neb., was deemed too small to purchase by Mead, but will continue to look for buyer.

Craig Bradshaw, president of Mead, said in a statement delivered to ProSales today, “Kildare Lumber is a great company and we are excited to continue their 109-year history of supplying the building material needs of customers in western Nebraska.”

Mead Lumber, based in Columbus, Neb., now operates 43 lumberyards, truss plants and mill shops in seven states. It was the No. 26 company on the ProSales 100 in 2016, with $257 million in total sales.
