Derby Building Products’ Tando brand has added a new color option, graphite, to the Signature Stain by Tando stained shake cladding collection. This new color option joins the existing fawn, bark, and acorn colors, and marks the Signature Stain collection’s first step away from wood-like browns with an earthy, dark gray tone over a wood-grain texture.

Tando developed its new graphite Signature Stain cladding in response to consumer demand and research, which has revealed that darker colors, and especially darker grays, are becoming more popular on home exteriors. “Our new color, Graphite, answers a need we’ve heard from both contractors and homeowners for a popular deep, dark gray stain,” says Ralph Bruno, CEO of Derby Building Products. “It works well with the mixed material trend as a gable or dormer accent, along with virtually any type of siding or cladding.”

Tando’s Signature Stain incorporates a true semi-transparent wood stain into its manufacturing process in order to achieve a natural and realistic stained wood look. The composite cladding is designed to resist moisture damage, and does not require the same maintenance or upkeep as natural stained wood, according to the manufacturer.
