SRS Distribution picked up a regional brand name as well as a new location when it announced today it has acquired Crown C Supply Co., a St. Louis area dealer specializing in roofing, siding, windows, and doors. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Crown C president Tom Connelly and the dealer’s staff not only will stay with the company, but the three SRS-owned facilities in the St. Louis area will change their name from Shake & Shingle Supply to Crown C.

“Crown C is a company we have followed and admired for some time and will be an integral part of our expansion plans in the Midwest region,” SRS president and CEO Dan Tinker said in a news release. Connelly, meanwhile, said the alliance with SRS “provides Crown C with a unique opportunity to strengthen and expand our position in the marketplace immediately to four area locations. It also allows us to preserve our Crown C identity, as well as our customer service-oriented and employee-centered culture.”

With the addition, SRS now has more than 225 locations across 42 states, operating under the flags of 24 local brands. It’s the 9th-biggest company on the ProSales 100, with sales in 2017 of $2.31 billion, 99% of it to pros.

SRS–a portfolio company of Leonard Green & Partners and Berkshire Partners–has been growing both through greenfield expansions and by acquisition. On Aug. 2, it opened four new greenfield locations in Plymouth, Mich.; Salem, Ore.; Waterbury, Conn.; and Oceanside, N.Y. And in July, SRS acquired the wholesale division of Interstate Building Materials and folded it into Kohl Building Products, which SRS bought in April 2017.
