BMC Stock Holdings, a leading provider of diversified lumber and building materials, announced plans to relocate their Issaquah, Wash., operations to a new millwork facility in Auburn, Wash., today. The new location will open for business in the first quarter of 2019.

According to the press release, the new 80,000 square-foot facility will double the Issaquah location’s footprint and capacity, improve lead times, expand service area, and substantially increase efficiency. The new facility will more than double BMC’s door production output capacity and will attempt to automate door lines in the future.

“Millwork manufacturing, to include pre- hung doors, is a key component of providing whole-house and value-added solutions to our customers,” BMC Western Division Vice President Ted Hopkins said. “By moving more of the construction process to our manufacturing facilities, and expanding our current capacity, our customers can continue to thrive despite a tight labor market while also saving both time and money.”

The Atlanta-based dealer stressed the pursuit and acceleration of its growth strategies during 2018 in its 4Q 2017 earnings report. Specifically, interim President and CEO Dave Keltner, emphasized the push to the company’s growth in trusses, millwork, doors, and BMC’s Ready-Frame system while substantially growing sales to professional remodelers.
