TAL Holdings, an eight-store chain of retail building material centers in Oregon and Washington, has announced the acquisition of Gerretsen Building Supply in Roseburg, Ore.
According to a news release from the company, Gerretsen will begin operations as part of the TAL family on February 4. Family-owned Gerretsen was founded in 1923 and operates full-service lumberyards serving both professional builders and retail customers in the Roseburg market. The company will continue operating under the Gerretsen Building Supply name after the acquisition closes.
“This acquisition is an excellent addition to our company. The Roseburg market fits into our growth strategy,” TAL Holdings CEO M. David Dittmer said in the news release. “Gerretsen is the top supplier of building materials in the market area they serve. Gerretsen is a great addition to our organization.”
Vancouver, Wash.-based TAL Holdings has three operating divisions serving contractors and homeowners: Tum-A-Lum Lumber, Marson and Marson Lumber, and Browne’s Home Center. Tum-A-Lum Lumber serves the Hood River, The Dalles, and Pendleton markets in Oregon, Marson and Marson Lumber serves the Leavenworth, Wenatchee, Chela, and Cle Elum markets in Washington, and Browne’s Home Center serves the San Juan Islands of Washington. TAL Holdings just missed out on the ProSales 100 list in 2018, and was the 101st ranked company in last year’s list.
