Employee-owned Your Building Centers (YBC) has acquired Pennsylvania-based Berlin Lumber Company, a lumber, truss, and building supplies provider.

YBC purchased 68-year-old Berlin Lumber from owner and president Doug Brant. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, though YBC said it intends to continue operation at the Berlin, Pa., branch under the name Berlin Lumber.

The acquisition of Berlin Lumber is the third in as many years by the Altoona, Pa.-based YBC, which now has 16 locations throughout central Pennsylvania. In a statement from the company, the dealer said the acquisition of Berlin allows “more Pennsylvania residents to benefit from being an employee owner” while also promoting the growth of YBC in the Pennsylvania market.

“As we being to celebrate our 30th anniversary this year as YBC, we are excited to begin a new chapter in our history and welcome Berlin Lumber to our employee-owned company,” Rich Lender, president and CEO of YBC, said in a public statement. “Berlin Lumber is an outstanding company with a long history of great customer service; we are looking forward to continuing that tradition into the future.”
