Foundation Building Materials (FBM), a wallboard, ceiling systems, and insulation specialist, opened a building materials location in Charlotte, N.C., according to a news release from the company.
FBM states the location will be managed by Rob Henshaw, a 30-year industry veteran. FBM Charlotte will be positioned to supply the entire Charlotte metro area with a wide range of construction productions. The location will stock, sell, and deliver drywall, steel studs, suspended ceilings, fiberglass reinforced plastic, external insulation finishing systems, drywall tools, and specialty fasteners.
The Charlotte location will also feature Rockfon Ceiling Systems. Rockfon manufactures acoustical ceiling tiles and panels, grid suspension systems, and metal ceilings.
Based in Tustin, Calif., FBM operates over 170 locations across the U.S. The company ranked 10th on the latest ProSales 100 and recorded $1.83 billion in sales during 2017. The company sold its mechanical insulation business last September in an effort to pay down debt. FBM completed four acquisitions and opened four greenfield specialty building products branches in 2018.
