Capital Lumber opened a new facility in Sacramento, Calif., to meet the demands of its growing product mix and the need for greater inventory levels.
The company has been occupying a space in the area since its acquisition of Capital Plywood in 2016. To meet product demands, the company invested in an 81,000-square-foot warehouse and a 4,300-square-foot office. A rail spur on the new site will provide the opportunity for improved inbound freight savings on several product lines, according to Capital Lumber.
The new location will allow the company to expand its service model with products that supply the retail segment with the level of customization and responsiveness that has become associated with Capital Lumber, according to the company.
Privately-held, Phoenix, Ariz.-based Capital Lumber has eight regional distribution facilities geographically focused in the Western United States that offer sales, market development, inventory management, and distribution services within the building materials industry.
