Cameron Ashley Building Products (CABP) relocated its Atlanta, Ga., distribution center to Kennesaw, Ga. The move was finalized at the beginning of December, with the new location providing inventory support for continued growth in roofing, insulation, and other building materials, according to the company.

“Moving our Atlanta, Ga., distribution center will allow CABP and our vendors improved access to many of our existing customers, as well as the ability to serve many more in the area,” regional vice president Tom Gaffey said in a public statement.

The move will allow Cameron Ashley to continue to serve current customers in the Atlanta metro area while also expanding the company’s reach in the state, according to distribution center manager David Hennigton. CertainTeed Roofing, TAMKO Roofing, Knauf Insulation, Ply Gem Siding, and Lapolla Insulation will be among the key suppliers for the Kennesaw distribution center.

The Georgia distribution center is the second Cameron Ashley facility to be relocated in 2019. In July, the distributor relocated its Houston, Texas distribution center. The Greenville, S.C.-based Cameron Ashley also opened six additional distribution centers in the calendar year. The company previously opened branches in Rocky Mount, N.C. and Macedonia, Ohio in January; a location in Columbia, S.C. in February; distribution centers in Phoenix, Ariz. and Las Vegas in June; and a branch in Harrisburg, Pa., in August.

Cameron Ashley, a company of Pacific Avenue Capital Partners, is a distributor of roofing, insulation, gypsum, and other specialty building products with more than 34 distribution centers across 20 states. In addition to its distribution center openings in 2019, Cameron Ashley also acquired St. Louis-based distributor Warrior Building Products in late January.
