Rugby Architectural Building Products is opening a distribution facility in Grand Prairie, Texas, as part of the company’s ongoing growth and commitment to improving customer experience. The new facility, a consolidation of Dallas and Fort Worth distribution, will begin operations in 2020.

The 125,000-square-foot facility is being configured to accommodate Rugby’s increasing volumes, diverse product assortment, and evolving customer base. The facility will include a 33,000-square-foot will-call area within the distribution warehouse. The will-call area will provide customers with an expedited shopping, buying, and procurement experience, according to Rugby.

“After a thorough assessment of the needs of our customers, then by matching those needs to the products stocked, we believe we have created an industry leading facility for the express benefit of our customer,” central region general manager Tommy Heard said in a public statement. “Our entire team is excited about this progression in our business and how it will help them provide our customers with the best service in the industry.

The distribution facility will stock a variety of architectural interior building products, including decorative surfaces, hardware, lumber, veneers, moulding, sheet goods, Wilsonart laminates and adhesives, and high gloss panels.

Concord, N.H.-based Rugby Architectural Building Products generated over $400 million in annual revenues in 2018 and has a geographic footprint including 33 distribution facilities servicing 35 states. The company was acquired by Canadian company Hardwoods Distribution in 2016.
