Cameron Ashley Building Products opened its latest distribution center in the Tulsa, Okla., market. The facility in Broken Arrow, Okla., will serve customers in the greater Tulsa market and represents the distributor’s first location in the state.

The 16,000-square-foot center will provide sales and inventory support for contractors with a focus on insulation and drywall. Bob DeCoteau will serve as the manager of the distribution center. DeCoteau said the ability to serve the Tulsa market with a dedicate distribution center was a “major need” for Cameron Ashley and its vendors.

“Expanding Cameron Ashley’s service area, this time in the Southeast, is a key part of our strategical outlook,” Cameron Ashley regional vice president Aaron Davis said in a prepared statement. “With this distribution center, we’re putting an emphasis on the needs of contractors.”

The Oklahoma distribution center is the second new facility opened by Cameron Ashley in December. The distributor also relocated its Atlanta, Ga., facility to Kennesaw, Ga. In addition to the two distribution centers opened in December, the company has opened seven other distribution centers in the calendar year. The company previously opened branches in Rocky Mount, N.C. and Macedonia, Ohio in January; a location in Columbia, S.C. in February; distribution centers in Phoenix, Ariz. and Las Vegas in June; a facility in Houston, Texas, branch in July; and a branch in Harrisburg, Pa., in August.

Cameron Ashley, a company of Pacific Avenue Capital Partners, is a distributor of roofing, insulation, gypsum, and other specialty building products with more than 34 distribution centers across 20 states. In addition to its distribution center openings in 2019, Cameron Ashley also acquired St. Louis-based distributor Warrior Building Products in late January.
