McCoy’s Building Supply reported it welcomed the delivery of its first load of lumber from Angelina Forest Products’ (AFP) new Lufkin, Texas, sawmill.
AFP’s “state-of-the-art” greenfield facility opened its doors after more than a year and a half of construction. The $100 million sawmill is expected to be capable of producing more than 300 million board feet of softwood lumber annually and maintain two shifts. AFP initially planned for the mill to be operational in 2019’s second quarter.
The AFP mill will produce southern yellow pine dimension lumber, including 2×4 through 2×12 in lengths from 8” to 20”. AFP will provide products for single and multi-family dwellings, outdoor living, repair and remodeling, and industrial end-users. AFP is one of the largest sawmills in Texas and in the southeastern region of the U.S., according to AFP.

San Marcos, Texas-based McCoy’s Building Supply operates 88 stores across five states, two door and millwork facilities, and three distribution centers. The dealer ranked 12th on the 2019 ProSales 100, generating $884.4 million in revenue during 2018.
