Covidsummit.buildingip.com, a newly launched website, provides the construction supply industry to hear from scores of the nation’s leading building material dealers and industry experts tell how to manage during and prosper after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The site contains more than 10 hours of content from the Building Industry Leaders COVID-19 Crisis Summit, which took place April 22-24. The website includes videos from nine one-hour panels covering topics including safety and the supply chain, the economic and housing recovery, operational finance, leadership and communication during the crisis, and business opportunities during the crisis.
Private equity investment firm Building Industry Partners (BIP) and Washington, D.C.-based consultancy Webb Analytics organized the invitation-only online event.
“For three days, many of LBM’s greatest leaders shared questions, challenges, wisdom, and ideas in navigating these unprecedented times,” Matt Ogden, BIP managing partner, said in a news release. “They explored how to navigate economic uncertainty and take action in all parts of their companies. And they did all this with realism as well as resolved, knowing that great challenge inevitably creates great opportunity–to learn, to adapt, to innovate, and to evolve.”
Other topics covered by panelists include near-term sales outlooks, government lifelines and capital structure considerations during the pandemic, sales and marketing strategies, managing expenses and working capital during the pandemic, and individual and collective action for policy impact.
“All building material dealers have had to adjust because of COVID-19, but some not only are adjusting better than others, they are making decisions now that will pay dividends later, once pandemic fears recede and the economy recovers,” Craig Webb, president of Webb Analytics, said. “The Summit was a master class on how to lead and manage for the long term.”
