Composite decking and railing manufacturer MoistureShield entered a distribution partnership in the west with Huttig Building Products. St. Louis, Mo.-based Huttig will distribute MoistureShield composite decking products throughout California from its branch locations in Sacramento and Rancho Cucamonga. Huttig’s Phoenix, Ariz., branch currently distributes MoistureShield products to Arizona and Nevada.
“There is a tremendous demand by homeowners in our region for composite decks,” David Shanda, vice president of the western region for Huttig, said in a news release. “We’re excited to help our dealers meet that need with MoistureShield’s distinct innovations, such as CoolDeck, as well as their strong warranties and fire ratings.”
MoistureShield’s Vision product line meets Wildland Urban Interface compliance tests required by California fire officials and resists scratches, stains, and impact damage. MoistureShield’s CoolDeck Technology reduces heat absorption by up to 35% compared to standard capped composites in a similar color, according to the manufacturer. The manufacturer’s newly-introduced entry-level priced capped decking product Elevate features two classic, solid colors and two variegated colors to emulate rich tropical hardwoods. MoistureShield products are backed by a 50-year warranty and all decking products feature the Solid Core Difference for strength and moisture resistance, allowing products to be installed directly on the ground, in the ground, or under water.
“Expanding into the western region is a huge milestone for MoistureShield,” Matthew Bruce, vice president of sales at MoistureShield, said. “We’re confident in Huttig’s decades of dedication to their dealers as we define a new region for the brand.”
MoistureShield is a division of Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, and its composite decking and railing products are manufactured from 95% recycled content. Huttig Building Products is a domestic distributor of millwork, building materials and wood products used in residential construction and in-home improvement, remodeling, and repair work. The company distributes its products through 27 distribution centers serving 41 states.
