Hardwood and plywood panel products wholesaler Atlantic Plywood, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Parksite, expanded its product mix with the addition of FENIX. FENIX materials, created by Arpa Industriale, are smart materials and matte surfaces defined by unique characteristics, including an extreme, anti-fingerprint, and thermally reparable matte finish suitable for kitchens, hospitality, healthcare, partition systems, and furniture, according to a news release. FENIX features 20 colors.

“We are excited to be among the select distributors chosen to represent FENIX to all our customers and specifiers in the eastern U.S., including our newest locations in Atlanta and Charlotte,” product category manager for Atlantic Plywood Ken Zarrella said. “The soft touch, warm appearance, extreme durability, and thermo healing properties achieved with electron beam curing technology truly make this an innovative and unique material.”

Arpa Industriale has been designing and manufacturing panels with HPL technology since 1954. The company launched FENIX in 2013 and FENIX materials are suitable for both vertical and horizontal applications.

“We are proud and excited to be partnered with the FENIX brand, part of the Formica Corporation,” Tony Millhouse, vice president of sales at Parksite, said. “At Parksite, we pride ourselves on building and maintaining mutually successful relationships. Our organizations are aligned philosophically with providing quality products, education, and market support to our customers.”

Parksite acquired Atlantic Plywood in 2018 with the purpose of expanding the scope of both businesses geographically. Atlantic Plywood operates 12 distribution facilities in Connecticut, Georgia, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Illinois. The company recently opened two new facilities in Charlotte and Atlanta. Parksite operates 20 locations across the United States.
