  • Armstrong World Industries acquired the business and assets of Moz Designs, a designer and fabricator of architectural metal ceilings, walls, dividers, and column covers.
  • Miyake Concrete Accessories is merging with HPM Building Supply. Miyake operates four building supply stores and one truss manufacturing plant in Hawaii and will now operate under the brand name Miyake – HPM Building Supply.
  • MiTek plans an expansion of its Phoenix-based manufacturing operations later this year. The expansion would add an additional 153,00 square feet to its Tolleson, Ariz., plant and increase the operation’s footprint by nearly 60%.

  • Resolute Forest Products is continuing plans to reopen its sawmill in El Dorado, Ark., that has been closed since last summer.
  • Specialty building materials distributor US LBM acquired building products dealer Maner Builders Supply.
  • Huttig Building Products is in the process of closing its Columbus, Ohio, and Selkirk, N.Y., branches. The company anticipates closing efforts will be substantially complete by the end of the third quarter.
  • Northeast Building Supply is expanding in Bridgeport, Conn., bringing additional retail space under the same roof as its kitchen and cabinetry division and adding a new drive-through lumber warehouse.
