Building product distributor Parksite appointed Robert Higgins to the newly created role of senior vice president of sales. In the role, Higgins will lead sales in all business units, including Parksite Surfaces, Parksite LBM, Atlantic Plywood Corporation, and the Therma-Tru Door Manufacturing facilities.

“On behalf of Parksite and its Board of Directors, it is with great pleasure that I announce the promotion of Bob to this important expanded role,” Ron Heitzman, president and CEO of Parksite, said in a news release. “Bob’s experience, leadership and dedication since joining Parksite are significant factors in establishing the sales focus, supplier relationship and organizational structure to position us to grow and expand. I have the utmost confidence in Bob’s ability to build on these efforts in leading Parksite’s sales teams positively forward.”

Higgins has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, including 16 years with Parksite. Higgins previously served as Parksite’s director of national accounts, director of sales, and vice president of sales for the Parksite lumber and building material (LBM) business unit. The newly appointed senior vice president of sales developed key supplier relationships, added innovative complimentary products to Parksite, and developed and implemented sales strategies to align with a restructured and focused sales team, according to the company. Prior to joining Parksite, Higgins worked in lumber sales with Weyehaeuser.

“After over 16 years with the Parksite organization I am extremely proud and excited to be a part of the continued progress and development of the company,” said Higgins. “It is an exciting time to be in the building industry and drive new trends and navigate the rapidly evolving industry.”

Batavia, Ill.-based Parksite is a distributor of specialized products for the commercial, residential, and remodel markets. The company has 22 locations across the United States.
