Composite decking and railing manufacturer MoistureShield has expanded in Minnesota through an agreement with BlueLinx Corporation. Building products distributor BlueLinx’s facility in Minneapolis, Minn., will now offer the full line of MoistureShield composite decking products to its dealers throughout the state.

“We’re excited to expand our reach in Minnesota with BlueLinx,” Matthew Bruce, vice president of sales at MoistureShield, said in a news release. “MoistureShield provides BlueLinx customers with moisture-resistant products that enhance their outdoor spaces and the thousands of docks and boats throughout the lake areas.”

All MoistureShield decking products feature the Solid Core Difference for advanced strength and moisture resistance, and can be installed directly on the ground, in the ground, or under water. The manufacturer’s Vision product line features its DiamondDefense Coating, offering scratch, stain, and damage on impact resistance. The product line features the option of CoolDeck Technology, which MoistureShield says reduces heat absorption by up to 35% compared to traditional capped composite boards in a similar color. The company also recently introduced Elevate, an entry-level capped composite decking product.

“The BlueLinx team strives to provide customers with durable, weather-resistant products like MoistureShield,” Ken Black, regional vice president of the western region for BlueLinx, said. “MoistureShield’s innovative decking allows us to deliver the highest levels of performance to endure Minnesota’s harsh winters.”

MoistureShield is a division of Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, and its composite decking and railing products are manufactured from 95% recycled content. The manufacturer first entered a distribution agreement with BlueLinx in August 2019. At the time, BlueLinx agreed to distribute MoistureShield products from its Atlanta and Chicago distribution centers.

Marietta, Ga.-based BlueLinx has a distribution footprint serving 50 states and distributes its range of structural and specialty products to approximately 15,000 customers across the United States.
