Weyerhaeuser Company appointed Deidra Merriwether, the senior vice president of North American sales and services for W.W. Grainger, to the company’s board of directors. Merriwether’s appointment is effective immediately and she will replace a retiring board member in 2021.
“We are very pleased to welcome Dee to the Weyerhaeuser board of directors,” Rick Holley, chairman of the board of directors, said in a prepared statement. “Dee is a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of customers, finance, and international supply chains, and she is adept at building relationships across organizations and industries. She brings exceptional leadership and experience to our board, as well as strong alignment with our core values.”
W.W. Grainger, a broad line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products, generated sales of $11.5 billion in 2019. The company has operations primarily in North America, Japan, and Europe. Merriwether leads the North American sales organization, which represents the largest portion of the overall Grainger business. According to the news release, Merriwether’s teams support more than 1.5 million customers across the manufacturing, government, and healthcare segments.
Seattle, Wash.-based Weyerhaeuser owns or controls around 11 million acres of timberlands in the United States and manages additional timberlands under long-term licenses in Canada.
