Specialty building materials distributor US LBM acquired Villaume Industries, a manufacturer of wood trusses for new residential and commercial construction and of custom wood crafting, boxes, and pallets in Minnesota. With the acquisition, US LBM now operates 21 locations in Minnesota through its network of divisions, which include Lampert Lumber, NexGen, and Lyman Companies. Villaume will operate as a unit of Lyman.

“Villaume has a reputation for both excellence and partnership and we’re pleased to have them join the US LBM team,” US LBM president and CEO L.T. Gibson said in a news release. “Villaume’s capabilities and footprint complement Lyman and its addition to our portfolio enhances our already strong position in the growing Twin Cities market and beyond.”

Eagan, Minn.-based Villaume is a leading designer and manufacturer of precision wood products, according to US LBM. The company provides floor and roof trusses for national, regional, and local builders and Villaume also engineers and manufactures custom wood packaging of pallets, crates, and cores for manufacturing companies.

The acquisition of Villaume Industries continues a pattern of acquisition by US LBM. The distributor acquired Gilcrest/Jewett Lumber Company in January, Jennings Builders Supply & Hardware, Tri-County Building Supplies, and Ridgefield Supply Company in December 2020, and Zeeland Lumber in November 2020. Also in November 2020, US LBM signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Bain Capital Private Equity.

Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based US LBM ranked 6th on the 2020 ProSales 100 and operates more than 250 locations across the United States. The distributor offers a portfolio of specialty products, including windows, doors, millwork, wallboard, roofing, siding, engineered components, and cabinetry.
