Wholly-owned lumber and building materials cooperative LBM Advantage named its building product division’s Vendors of the Year. The co-op presented 2020 honorees with awards at its Annual Buying Show, held virtually last month.

The 2020 winners include:

“The building products division wants to acknowledge vendor partners in their respective areas of expertise that separated themselves from their individual competitors in their categories and ultimately added to the success of our membership,” Tom Molloy, executive vice president of products and programs at LBM Advantage, said in a news release.

To be recognized as a vendor of the year, a company must produce an increase in sales over the previous year, and increase in footage/unit over the previous year, and participate in all Advantage events. Vendors must also include their response and resolution of complaints, reaction to competitive situations, marketing and trend communication, and meet or exceed LBM Advantage guidelines for programs. Eligible vendors must also have dedicate sales staff available for timely response needs, a national account team who understands LBM Advantage’s business and supports the co-ops direction, and an ease of order entry to keep errors at a minimum.

LBM Advantage said the awards were “especially well earned during such a difficult year.” LBM Advantage has four locations in New Windsor, N.Y., Grand Rapids, Mich., Smithfield, N.C., and Monroe, La. The co-op has more than 510 independent members.
