Cameron Ashley Acquires Reserve Supply of Central New York

The Syracuse-based dealer distributes commodity and treated lumber, engineered wood, roofing, gypsum, and insulation.

Cameron Ashley Building Products acquired Syracuse, N.Y.-based Reserve Supply of Central New York (RSCNY). RSCNY is a lumber dealer co-operative that distributes a vast selection of building products, including commodity and treated lumber, engineered wood, roofing, gypsum, and insulation.

“We are excited to begin serving customers in the central New York area with the addition of Reserve Supply of Central New York,” Donny DeMarie, president and CEO of Cameron Ashley said in a prepared statement. “We are committed to satisfying our new customers with not only their current product selections like lumber, but also expanding customers’ access to our top supplier brands of roofing, gypsum, insulation, and siding.”

Reserve Supply of Central New York’s Syracuse location will be rebranded and operate as Cameron Ashley Building Products, effective immediately.

“Our team is ready to support the new employees and customers from Reserve Supply of Central New York. We look forward to working with our suppliers to share our product offering throughout the state of New York,” regional vice president Tom Gaffey said. “We are pleased to be able to join the rich history of RSCNY and the relationships that go back decades. Cameron Ashley, a portfolio company of private investment firm Pacific Avenue Capital Partners, is a distributor of roofing, insulation, gypsum, and other specialty building products. South Carolina-based Cameron Ashley operates a network of more than 42 stocking distribution centers with a total storage footprint of over 4.2 million square feet in 20 states.

Under Pacific Avenue’s ownership, Cameron Ashley has completed three add-on acquisitions and has grown its network to more than 5,000 customers serviced. The company opened nine distribution centers across the United States in 2019 and acquired Topeka, Kansas-based J&R Products, Alexandria, La.-based Martin Distributors, and opened three distribution centers in 2020.
