Vinyl, aluminum, and fiberglass window and door manufacturer MI Windows and Doors broke ground on a 90,000-square-foot addition to its manufacturing facility in Gratz, Pa. The project, which will create nearly 100 new local jobs, is scheduled to be completed in early 2022.
MI said the expanded facility will feature two additional vinyl window production lines, a new automated glass room, and a training center. The expansion will also feature a number of enhanced safety features, including separate parking areas for team members and trucks, as well as dedicated pedestrian and forklift lanes inside the facility, according to MI.
“The building industry is growing and we’re excited to be part of that growth,” MI CEO Matt DeSoto said in a news release. “This project creates a better environment for our team while increasing our production capacities so we can continue providing our customers with the windows, doors, and value-added services they need.”
MI Windows and Doors has 10 manufacturing plants in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Arizona, and provides products for both the new construction and replacement markets.
