Family-owned LBM dealer Riverhead Building Supply acquired the assets of Taunton, Mass.-based Mozzone Lumber Company. The acquisition marks Riverhead’s first expansion into the state of Massachusetts. Riverhead said the deal will significantly enhance its ability to service the high-end, quality-oriented customers in the southeastern Massachusetts market.
“Riverhead has built a reputation on quality and service,” Joe Mozzone, president of Mozzone Lumber, said. “They recognize the importance of putting good people in front of a customer and that’s been central to the success of Mozzone Lumber since the business started with my grandfather 74 years ago.”
Upon completion of the transition, Mozzone expects to remain active in the business and Riverhead will look to maintain current Mozzone Lumber employees for continuity for customers. The deal is expected to close in the next 60 days.

Riverhead Building Supply currently operates 18 stores in New York, Rhode Island, and Connecticut and is the exclusive manufacturer of Heritage Wide Plank Flooring & Millwork.
