Nation’s Best Acquires Ron’s Lumber & Home Center and Gilmer Lumber

The two acquisitions provide Nation’s Best with expanded service to markets in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Nation’s Best acquired Ron’s Lumber & Home Center in Howe, Okla., and Gilmer Lumber in Gilmer, Texas. Both locations will maintain operations under their existing names with their management teams overseeing company operations alongside Nation’s Best. Nation’s Best will provide both companies with strategic and financial support to promote growth and profitability.

“With these latest additions to our family of home improvement businesses, we’re expanding our ability to bring exceptional products and service to even more customers,” Chris Miller, president and CEO of Nation’s Best, said in a news release. “Ron’s Lumber, with its large home center and unique, niche category offerings, along with a full line lumberyard, is central to our access to markets in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. In addition, Gilmer Lumber has been a trusted pro builder resource for nearly 100 years and complements our growing presence in the north Texas market.”

Nation’s Best, founded in 2019, is a member-owner of Do it Best Corp., a U.S. based hardware, lumber, and building materials buying cooperative in the home improvement industry.

Nation’s Best now operates 24 locations across seven states. The company completed several acquisitions in 2020, including its acquisition of Groom & Sons’ and Lambert Lumber in February 2020, its acquisition of five-unit, Bridgeport Building Centers in March 2020, its acquisition of Hall’s Hardware July 2020, its acquisition of two-unit Simms Lumber in October 2020, its acquisition of five-unit Connolly’s Do it Best Hardware & Rental in November 2020. In 2021, the company has completed the acquisition of BTU Do it Center, the acquisition Hometown Hardware, the acquisition of Caron Building Center, and the acquisitions of Hipp Modern Builders Supply and Panhandle Lumber & Supply.
