Mead Lumber Company purchased Triple “S” Building Center of Butte, Mont. Triple “S” is a family-owned business and has serviced the southwest Montana area as a full-service lumber yard and building material supplier for professional builders and remodelers, homeowners, and commercial contractors since 1988. The company is also a member of the Do it Best hardware cooperative.
“We are excited to join the Mead Lumber family,” Doug and Dave Stordahl, co-owners of Triple “S”, said in a news release. “Mead Lumber has all of the values we hold dear here at Triple “S”. And with Mead Lumber being an employee-owned company with 48 locations, their size and the way they do business will undoubtedly benefit our customers and employees now and in the future.”
Post-acquisition, Triple “S” will continue to operate under its existing brand name an the current management team will continue to lead day-to-day operations.

Columbus, Neb.-based, employee-owned Mead Lumber now operates 49 locations in Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wyoming. The company operates five truss and wall manufacturing plants. The company specializes in providing a complete line of materials, including lumber, building materials, trusses and wall panels, millwork, kitchen cabinets and countertops, siding, decking, windows, doors, and hardware.
