GMS Appoints Leigh Dobbs Chief Human Resources Officer

Dobbs brings over two decades of human resources experience to the role.

Specialty building products distributor Gypsum Management & Supply (GMS) named Leigh Dobbs as the company’s chief human resources officer, effective September 6, 2022.

“I am pleased to welcome Leigh to our GMS team. She brings extensive experience leading HR, which is crucial as we continue to execute against our strategic growth priorities, while also ensuring our commitment to the vision, mission, and values of GMS,” GMS president and CEO John Turner said in a prepared statement. “In her role as CHRO, Leigh will lead all aspects of our human resources efforts, including recruiting and retaining top talent, leadership development and training, compensation and benefits, HR operations, inclusion and diversity, and promoting our culture across the organization. I look forward to working with Leigh and the contributions she will make to the team.”

Dobbs has worked in human resources for over 20 years, most recently serving as executive vice president and chief human resources officer for Zenith American Solutions. She has previously held human resources positions for Randstad North America and BlueLinx Corporation.

Tucker, Ga.-based GMS operates a network of nearly 300 distribution centers across 46 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces, offering wallboard, suspended ceiling systems, and complementary construction products.
