Ganahl Lumber

1 MIN READ

Ganahl Lumber is the oldest lumberyard in California and was founded in early 1900’s by Christian and Frank Ganahl, Austrian immigrant brothers who moved to Los Angeles from St. Louis during the late 19th century. The brothers capitalized on the “branch yard theory,” which brought the company much success. Today the company operates nine locations in Southern California and is still led by the Ganahl family, but operates as an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Aside from building materials, Ganahl Lumber also offers milling services, green products, and industrial sales.
