Four industry experts have agreed to serve as judges for ProSales’ 17th annual Excellence Awards competition, honoring achievement in construction supply.
Those four are:
- Robb Wilson, head of Wilson Lumber, Huntsville, Ala., this year’s ProSales Dealer of the Year.
- Brian McCauley, the Louisville, Ky.-based head of sales training at Atrium Windows and author of ProSales’ “Uncommon Value” sales advice column.
- Scott Morrison, principal for Scott Morrison Consulting, Concord, N.H., which helps LBM dealers operate more efficiently. He’s also a contributor to ProSales.
- Chris Rader, president of Rader Solutions, a technology company based in Lafayette, La..
Dealers and distributors can enter to win prizes in any of seven categories: Facility design, showroom design, advertising, marketing (a category that can encompass more than ads), technology, education, and safety. (See past winners.)
Grand Award winners get a trophy, a story in the November/December issue of ProSales, and $500 to give to the charity of their choice. Merit Award winners receive a certificate, $150 for charity, and an article about them.

The judges are the only people who decide submissions are so notable they deserve to be shared with the rest of the lumber and building material community. The judges have wide latitude in deciding which projects deserve prizes. They can give awards to several candidates in the same category or conclude that there’s not a single contestant in a particular category that should get anything. It’s their call.
