2020 has been a unique year, presenting challenges that a year ago were inconceivable. Distributors with foresight are approaching those challenges as opportunities to transform themselves in a radically changing world. Some challenges are behind us, but this year has highlighted some of the new ways of thinking distributors will need to adopt and execute to survive and thrive moving forward. With customers who have become more mobile, more aware, and more demanding, distributors need to be agile, automated, data-driven, distinctive, collaborative, services-oriented, vertically specialized, customer-centric, and innovative.

That long list of traits will be discussed, analyzed, and reviewed at the 2021 ProSales Conference: The Promise of Tomorrow. The conference will take place virtually February 24-26 and will help create and form action plans to help produce a strong future. The conference will afford attendees the opportunity to hear from other dealers facing similar challenges and opportunities, sharing their successes, and learning from each other in a digital format.

Some of the topics covered at the event include the following:

Developing Talent
One of the top challenges for LBM dealers is developing talent to reduce turnover and retaining top talent. These leaders will address how t o be agile and resilient in the face of an economic and construction market deceleration and how they will be managing new economic factors brought on by the new presidency.

M&A Panel

The session will also touch on the impact of the recent election and the coronavirus pandemic.

There will be additional sessions on how technology such as AI is being slowly embraced by the industry successfully, how being involved in your local community can benefit your company, how to navigate the post-pandemic financial landscape, how to remain resilient as a business amid changing market dynamics, how understanding your technology can yield greater efficiency and flexibility, and how the industry can work to promote and achieve healthy housing.
