Meet Butch the Survivor Cat

Meet Butch the cat, at 12 years the longest-tenured regular at Denair Lumber in Riverbank, Calif. Yard manager Paul Dalton says Butch is an expert mice-catcher who loves to show off kills to Denair’s crew. Butch is also a bit of a survival expert, having overcome the departure of two of the facility’s previous owners. Now that the air conditioning is back on, Butch is living in style. Butch’s only problem, in fact, might be a bit of an identity crisis: Dalton thinks Butch actually is female.
