ChanneLinx entered bankruptcy protection in 2003, four years after its founding, after failing to develop along the lines of its original business plan, struggling to reinvent itself, and falling victim to dot.com-era–inspired spending. Rather than folding completely, the company reports that then-acting president and CEO Daniel “Ty” Schmidt and then-acting CFO Kurt Herwald recognized that the company’s eLinx supply chain software solutions still had potential in the marketplace and convinced creditors to work with the company.
Two years later, the company says that it is cash-flow positive and will be profitable for the first time in its history. The company’s focus now is providing e-business solutions specializing in Internet-based supply chain software that extends and leverages existing systems through a range of e-commerce applications, including online selling systems, electronic catalog content management, online procurement, and electronic commerce integration and data interchange services.
