BMC expanded today by acquiring Texas Plywood & Lumber Co. and Code Plus Components. It said the deals make it the biggest supplier of production millwork and doors for single- and multi-family residential construction in Dallas-Fort Worth as well as a bigger force in value-added products in the Washington, D.C., area.

Grand Prairie, Texas-based Texas Plywood recorded $55.2 million in net sales last year. It focuses on doors and millwork. Martinsburg, W.Va.-based Code Plus racked up $14.2 million in net sales, focusing on roof and floor trusses and I-joists.

Peter Alexander, president and CEO of BMC, stated in company’s announcement: “Each of these transactions is in line with our strategy to pursue accretive acquisition opportunities that are easily integrated and enable BMC to expand strategically in select markets.

“Millwork doors, and truss manufacturing are all key components of providing whole-house and value-added solutions to our customers,” Alexander added. “By moving more of the construction and assembly process to our manufacturing facilities, our customers can continue to thrive, despite a tight labor market, while also saving both time and money.”

Based in Atlanta, BMC ranks No. 3 on the current ProSales 100. It reported net income of $10.4 million and net sales of $747.6 million in 2016’s fourth quarter.
