Boise Cascade completed the purchase of a new property with building structures in Gallatin, Tenn., according to a news release. The 13-acre facility currently has 183,000 square feet of warehouse and office space.

Boise Cascade plans to start construction and improvements on the facility with the goal of beginning operations at the facility in the second quarter of 2021. The acquired property was previously home to Fowler Lumber Company, an Appalachian hardwood producer.

“The acquisition of this new facility will allow us to expand our operations in the Nashville market, one of the strongest housing growth markets in the U.S.,” Jeff Strom, vice president and building materials distribution general manager of eastern operations, said in a prepared statement.

According to Boise Cascade, the facility in Gallatin has railroad access and is close to the Nashville metro area as well as state highways and interstates, allowing it to service a larger distribution footprint.

“The investment demonstrates our commitment to this market with increased capacity, allowing us to expand our product offering and add depth in the product lines we carry today,” said Nick Stokes, executive vice president of Boise Cascade’s building materials distribution.

The Boise Cascade building materials distribution Nashville distribution center was created following the acquisition of Lumberman’s Wholesale Distributors in April 2018.

Boise, Idaho-based Boise Cascade products engineered wood products and plywood in North America and is a wholesale distributor of building products.
