84 Lumber hired Troy Dally as the company’s chief procurement officer (CPO). In the role, Dally will oversee purchasing, pricing, cost forecasting, inventory, national sales, and specialty purchasing and delivery services.

“The chief procurement officer is a position of enormous responsibility that touches everything we do today and will do in the future,” said Maggie Hardy Knox, president of 84 Lumber. “Troy has a very successful track record in our industry and will be a valuable asset to the team as we continue searching for ways to enhance the customer experience.”

Dally brings more than 25 years of experience in sales, purchasing, and supply chain to the CPO role, according to 84 Lumber. Dally served as a senior vice president at Lowe’s for eight years, largely in the merchandising segment.

84 Lumber said Dally will spend his first several months with the company visiting stores and learning the company culture. Part of his role as CPO will involve focusing on better understanding and improving 84 Lumber’s systems and processes.

“I am excited to be joining the 84 Lumber family,” Dally said. “This is a company with a rich history of supplying the needs of our customers throughout our great country. 84 Lumber has set a high standard in supplying building products to the industry for more than 60 years.”

Eighty Four, Pa.-based 84 Lumber, which ranked fourth on the 2019 ProSales 100, generated about $3.86 billion in sales during 2018. The company operates nearly 250 stores, component manufacturing plants, custom door shops, custom millwork shops, and engineering wood product centers in more than 30 states.
