LBM dealers Kodiak Building Products and 84 Lumber earned spots on the 2019 Inc. 5000
list, distributed by Inc. magazine.

The Inc. 5000 list, in its 37th year, ranks the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. For the 2019 list, companies were ranked according to percentage revenue growth between 2015 and 2018, with minimum revenues of $100,000 and $2 million required for each year, respectively.

Eighty Four, Pa.-based 84 Lumber earned a ranking for the first time, landing at No. 4927. 84 Lumber achieved a 54% increase in revenue during the three-year period. The company operates approximately 250 stores, component manufacturing plants, custom door shops, custom millwork shops, and engineered wood product centers in more than 30 states.

“Being named to the Inc. 5000 list is an incredible accomplishment for our company and associates,” Maggie Hardy, president of 84 Lumber, said in a company press release. “It’s further proof that all of the hard work we’ve done in recent years to expand our services, enhance our technology, and improve customer experience has really paid off. We’re truly better than ever, and I’m excited for what lies ahead.”

Highland Ranch, Co.-based Kodiak Building Products earned a spot of the list for the second consecutive year, rising over 1200 places to No. 2722. Kodiak grew sales 141% between 2015 and 2018. The company operates 77 locations in Texas, Florida, Colorado, Arizona, Delaware, Massachusetts, Kansas, Michigan, Washington, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Maryland.

“We are honored, for the second year in a row, to be in such good company with great entrepreneurs recognized in this survey,” Kodiak CEO Steve Swinney said in a public statement. “Since our founding in 2011, it has been a privilege to be a part of such an innovative and collaborative team. Our escalation in ranking is a testament to the remarkable employees across Kodiak who work hard every day to support the building of communities in the markets we serve.”
