84 Lumber appointed Ken Kucera as the company’s vice president of installed sales and merchandising. In the role, Kucera will lead 84 Lumber’s strategy and implementation for growing the components manufacturing business across the country. Kucera joined the dealer in 2001 and has played a key role in profitably managing installed sales and the multifamily business units, according to the company.
“We’ve seen an increasing demand for engineered and manufactured wood products across the industry,” Frank Cicero, COO at 84 Lumber, said in a news release. “Ken’s proven track record of performance and strong leadership, as well as his existing relationships and knowledge of our sales and manufacturing tactics, make him the ideal candidate to lead this important growth strategy.”
Kucera said 84 Lumber has high expectations for 2020, with the company planning to open several new facilities. These facilities will create sales and employment opportunities, Kucera said, all while supporting customers.
Eighty Four, Pa.-based 84 Lumber generated about $3.86 billion in sales in 2018. The company, which ranked 4th on the 2019 ProSales 100, operates nearly 250 stores, components manufacturing plants, custom door shops, custom millwork shops, and engineering wood product centers in more than 30 states.
