For the fifth consecutive year, building materials dealer 84 Lumber is hosting its Operation Appreciation campaign in honor of Military Appreciation Month in May. For 2020, the company is looking for a veteran or active duty military personnel to award a free 84 Lumber Countryside Tiny House.
84 Lumber is calling on U.S. military personnel or a loved one of a veteran or service member to upload a video telling the company how a tiny house would impact the veteran’s life.
“Since 84 Lumber was founded nearly 65 years ago, we have always had a strong commitment to our military members,” Amy Smiley, vice president of marketing at 84 Lumber, said in a new release. “With everything going on in the world right now, we thought this would be a good year to go all out for those who serve us. We’re excited to hear everyone’s stories and to give a tiny house to someone in need.”
In addition to the tiny house giveaway, the dealer is honoring veterans throughout May in its 250 branches across the United States. According to 84 Lumber, every associate will be given a custom Operation Appreciation t-shirt, and a 10% discount will be applied for all military personnel and first responders. The dealer will also designate Combat Wounded purple parking spots at stores across the country.
Eighty Four, Pa.-based 84 Lumber was the fourth largest company on the 2019 ProSales 100 list. The dealer operates approximately 250 stores, components manufacturing plants, custom door shops, custom millwork shops, and engineered wood product centers in more than 30 states.
