California-based Ashby Lumber, with locations in Berkeley and Concord, Calif., named Emily Morgan as the company’s new CEO.

“I am honored and excited to be taking on the role of CEO,” Morgan said. “Our grandfather, my mother Kathy, and uncle Jeff loved Ashby and devoted their careers to making it the best place for customers to shop and for employees to work. We consider it a huge accomplishment to make it to the third generation. There is pride in keeping a family business going.”

Morgan is the third generation of her family at the pro dealer and has over 16 years of experience in the business. The incoming CEO began her career during her teenage years helping her mother and uncle around the lumberyard, according to Ashby Lumber. Morgan has served as co-owner and head of business development for the past five years, leading the company through significant growth and changes.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Emily’s caliber and experience lead Ashby Lumber,” Dan Easley, outgoing president of Ashby Lumber, said in a public statement. “I know the Ashby Team will provide her the support to carry Ashby Lumber through the next 50 years.”

Easley has served as president of the company for the past 30 years and retired on March 10.

“Dan has been a devoted and dedicated leader at Ashby Lumber for over 30 years. He did a remarkable job during his time with the company and we wish him nothing but the best in his retirement,” Morgan said. “I know that I speak for everyone at Ashby Lumber in thanking Dan for his leadership and tireless dedication to the company.”

Ashby Lumber was founded in 1888 and supplies contractors and homeowners with lumber, tools and hardware, doors, windows, paint, faucets, sinks, and toilets for residential and commercial remodeling, rebuilding, and renovation.
