Builders FirstSource hired Amy Bass Messersmith as the company’s chief people officer, effective March 14. In the role, Messersmith will be a member of the dealer’s executive leadership team, overseeing all aspects of human resources, including the implementation of strategies to develop and promote best practices in organizational and leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and talent acquisition, development, and management.

Messersmith formerly held the role of chief human resources officer for the U.S. Anesthesia Partners and held the chief people officer role at TDIndustries and Pizza Hut. Messersmith also held progressive leadership positions with PepsiCo, Frito Lay North America, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Accenture Consulting.
Dallas-based BFS operates in 42 states with approximately 580 locations and has a market presence in 85 of the top 100 MSAs. The company provides value-added products such as roof and floor trusses, wall panels, stairs, vinyl windows, custom millwork and pre-hung doors. BFS also distributes dimensional lumber and lumber sheet goods, millwork, windows, interior and exterior doors, and other building products.
