Building materials supply company Concord Lumber Corporation named Jack Mackin as the company’s new president. Mackin will assume day-to-day leadership when his appointment with the company commences on May 3.

Tim Lancaster, who has served as the acting CEO, will stay on as a member of Concord’s board of directors. Lancaster will serve on the board alongside CFO David Perry and Duncan Facey, the former vice president of forest products at LBM Advantage. Ed Schatz will continue as the chairman of the board, according to Concord.

“Concord Lumber Corporation is excited to welcome Jack to the team,” Perry said in a news release. “Jack’s extensive background in the lumber and construction industry and expertise creating and implementing inventive business and operational strategies, long-range goals, and solutions to maximize revenue and sales growth will greatly benefit Concord Lumber Corporation. We believe his strong leadership expertise will help focus Concord Lumber Corporation during this time of uncertainty in the world.”

Mackin has more than two decades of senior management experience, including 15 years as the vice president, COO, and CEO of F.D. Sterritt Lumber, a family-owned retail lumberyard. The incoming Concord president helped oversee the implementation of the latest technology at F.D. Sterritt and transformed the company into a leading distributor of FSC-certified wood products, according to Concord. Mackin currently serves as the owner and operator of Multivista Massachusetts, a company that manages a full suite of visual construction documentation services. Mackin has also previously worked in the technology industry, where he started Piiq.com, an affiliate network tracking program for more than 50 Fortune 500 companies, and in the financial industry, where he served as vice president/derivatives trader, equity derivatives for Bank of America.

Additionally, Macklin has been engaged in building supply organizations, including the US Green Building Council, National Association of the Remodeling Industry, Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston, and has been a frequent speaker at local events, trade shows, and national conferences. Mackin has also dedicated time to lobbying Congress in 2015, 2016, and 2017 regarding laws applicable to the retail and lumber industry.

“I am eager to be joining the Concord Lumber Corporation team. I believe Concord Lumber Corporation has a strong, multi-service business model and talented management team that uniquely positions it to capitalize on the growing building supply industry,” Mackin said. “As the world emerges from the pandemic, and businesses, including the building industry, become profitable again, I believe Concord Lumber Corporation has the right mix of locations including lumberyards and hardware stores, a moulding and millwork center, a kitchen and bath design showroom, and paint stores, to meet all customer’s needs and grow to be a significant competitor in the marketplace.”

Littleton, Mass.-based Concord Lumber Corporation operates Concord Lumber, Littleton Lumber, Forester Moulding & Millwork, The Kitchen Works, and Colorworks Paint & Decorating Centers. The company services building and home improvement professionals in eastern and central Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and southern New Hampshire.
