Hawaii-based HPM Building Supply doubled its Oahu footprint, became Hawaii’s exclusive distributor for SCAFCO steel framing, and expanded its product selection to include CertainTeed acoustical ceiling panels and other commercial interior materials. As a result of the expansion of its Oahu footprint, HPM’s Kapolei location now spans six acres, with 50,000 square feet of covered warehouse space, a lumber yard, a steel yard, and a custom metal roofing manufacturing. To accommodate the expansion, the branch has added six employees.
“By adding steel and commercial interior products to our extensive lineup of lumber, paint, roofing, and hardware, we’re able to offer even more for our customers and truly be a one-stop shop for projects of all types and sizes,” Jason Fujimoto, HPM president and CEO, said.
As the exclusive distributor of SCAFCO in Hawaii, HPM will carry all SCAFCO products at wholesale prices and will partner with SCAFCO engineering experts on custom orders, according to the company. SCAFCO steel framing products are manufactured from 100% prime mill certified steel and exceed industry standards.
“We’re proud to partner with HPM Building Supply as our exclusive distributor in the Hawaii market,” Larry Stone, SCAFCO president, said in a news release. “When two long-time companies like HPM and SCAFCO come together, the customer wins because of our experience, expertise, and dedication to superior quality.”
By carrying CertainTeed acoustical products, HPM is entering the commercial interiors market. CertainTeed acoustical ceiling products come in smooth, fissured, or textured varieties with a wide range of acoustic performance, visuals, and price-points. According to the company, HPM plans to expand its selection of commercial interior materials. The company’s Oahu location will soon stock windows as well as a wider array of molding, drywall, and insulation products.
“As the Oahu construction industry continues to see growth, even during the pandemic, we are excited to expand our capacity and capabilities to better serve our customers,” said Mark Schwinn, HPM Oahu regional manager. “Doubling our footprint is just the first step in our vision to grow our presence on this island.”
HPM recently merged with Miyake Concrete Accessories, adding four building supply stores and one truss manufacturing plant on Maui to HPM’s eight existing locations across Hawaii, Oahu, and Kauai.
